Christmas Pyramid

The Christmas pyramid originally comes from the "Erzgebirge" region of Germany. This spinning Christmas decoration is similar to a carousel which turns automatically using a sophisticated mechanism: candles produce a current of warm air, which rises upwards to spin the wheel. The wheel then sets the platforms inside the pyramid in motion which are decorated with little figurines portraying Christmas scenes.

The biggest Christmas pyramid in the world can be found at the Dresden Christmas Market. It is 14.62m tall and has 42 wooden figures on six levels!
